	September 2003 Player of the Month
	Vijay Singh is GRI - September 2003 Player of the Month • Tway, Lewis, Armour & Scott Score Victories (September 29, 2003 - Golf Rank Index) Vijay Singh enjoyed a win at the John Deere Classic and two more September top-10 finishes to win the Golf Rank Index - September Player of the Month. Singh's other point earning performances were at the Deutsche Bank Championship where he finished in 4th place (69 ranking points) and the Bell Canadian where he finished in a tie for 6th. (30 ranking points). Singh's 245 total ranking points for the month moved him to the top of the GRI - Player of the Year Index as well. Close behind Singh with 240 points on the September index, was Bob Tway who earned 155 ranking points for his victory at the Bell Canadian Open, then followed up later in the month with a tie for 2nd at the Valero Texas Open. (85 ranking points). Following Singh and Tway on the Index were other September event winners, J.L. Lewis , Tommy Armour III & Adam Scott. Lewis won at the 84 Lumber Classic, and also had a 2nd place tie at the John Deere Classic to earn 217 ranking points for the month. Armour gained the winners share of 155 points at the Valero which gave him a total of 177 for the month. Adam Scott only scored once during September, but it was a big win at Deutsche Bank Classic that was worth 172 ranking points. Noticeably absent from the top September point totals were GRI - Player of the Year contenders, Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk, Davis Love III, Mike Weir, and Kenny Perry. Woods only event of the month was the Deutsche Bank where he earned a modest 32 ranking points. Furyk (49 ranking points) and Weir (25 ranking points) played sparingly in September, Love finished out of the points in his only event for the month and Perry took the month off. Events that bridge a months end or beginning of another, are generally placed in the month in which they end, but may be shifted to the prior month to balance the number of events to be ranked in each month. In the event of a first place tie, co-winners will be named. Eligibility - All players participating in GRI ranked events are eligible. They do not need to be a member of any professional golf tour. Must Win - To be named a player of the month, the player MUST have a win in a GRI ranked event in the month. Should any player without a win earn the highest number of GRI ranking points for a given month, they will be placed behind the highest ranked player with a win.
